How to "Go Live" with your new site.

**Flash Website Tutorials (for anyone that purchased before 1/1/12)

So, all your content is in and the site looks awesome! Great Job!

Now it's time to "Go Live" with your site so that your whole community can see it. You are able to do this through your Domain Registration Company (Like Godaddy.com or NetworkSolutions.com)

OPTION #1

This option is to be used if Bridge Element is hosting your website as well as your email accounts.

Simply contact your Domain provider and let them know that you would like to "Update the DNS (Domain Name Servers) settings."

Your new DNS is as follows:

NS1.BRIDGEELEMENT.NET

NS2.BRIDGEELEMENT.NET

Once these settings are updated it may take up to 48 hours to propagate (spread out) throughout the rest of the internet. Usually it only takes about 15 minutes.

If you are feeling particularly nerdy you can update these records manually by logging into your Domain Registration account. We have provided links for 3 domain registrars below.  If your domain registrar is not one of the companies listed below contact your current domain registrar to get instructions on how to modify your DNS.

OPTION #2

This option is to be used if Bridge Element is only hosting your website and will NOT be hosting your email accounts.

Simply contact your Domain provider and let them know that you would like to create an "A Record"

This will allow Bridge Element to only host the website and the website files. It will not point any emails or sub domains to Bridge Element.  Your A RECORD will be the 11 digit IP address that is part of the link you have to your "test server" which looks like this: http://173.193.30.224/~mychurch  Your A RECORD will be just the numbers in the beginning. Using the example above the A RECORD would be "173.193.30.224"

Once these settings are updated it may take up to 48 hours to propagate (spread out) throughout the rest of the internet. Usually it only takes about 15 minutes.

If you are feeling particularly nerdy you can update these records manually by logging into your Domain Registration account. We have provided links for 4 domain registrars below.  If your domain registrar is not one of the companies listed below contact your current domain registrar to get instructions on how to add an A Record.
